The VAST Power Cycle increases generating efficiency by ~24% over a simple cycle gas turbine. The VAST® Liquid Recuperator™★ combined with the patented VAST® Wet Compression™★★ and other fluid dynamics features unique to the VAST TriFluid Combustor enable a 19% fuel cost saving in generating power. This economic edge is a VAST Advantage.
Thermoflex modeling shows that at 100 MW we achieve 52% efficiency for a single expander gas turbine system with heat recovery and recycling compared to 42% for a conventional Simple Cycle Peaker. This means the VAST Power System is the most cost-effective backup for grids with major non-dispatchable renewable power penetration.
